VINCENT BUNCHES

The Vincent Bunch is the first series in the Bunches collection and takes inspiration from places within the City of Vincent’s neighbourhoods. You’ll see the iconic North Perth olive trees, the purple petals of Hyde Park’s summer jacarandas and even an edible bunch of veges from the local Kyilla Farmers Market. This series pays homage to many walks throughout the area admiring the diverse and abundant pockets of plants and florals within the city.

The collection was created by hand in my home studio where I begin each piece by painting various types of paper, then intricately cutting, layering and arranging the pieces of paper before gluing and photographing for reproduction.

You can currently view the Vincent Bunch in person at the outdoor Lightbox Laneway Gallery just off Beaufort Street (on Kaadadjiny Lane).

If you’d like to keep one of these bunches forever the collection is available as limited edition prints and greeting cards here.

Wade Street is inspired by a collection of rose bushes found in a corner of Tu Do park in Perth. This small park is on the crest as you begin to enter into the rich activity of the William Street town centre. The tight old streets and lanes surrounding this area are filled with small cottages and terrace and it won’t take you long to spot the next bush of roses in a front garden.

Hyde Park

Hyde Park boast one of the best picnic locations in all of Vincent (and Perth!) but there is nothing quite like Hyde Park in Summer time when the jacaranda trees cover the grass with a purple blanket of flowers. You’ll still be in for a colourful experience in the cooler months as the trees surrounding the lakes turn a crisp gold.

North Perth

The North Perth bunch of olives is inspired by the many olive trees you’ll find in peoples front yard, poking over the neighbours back fence and surrounding the local school. These local gems are even celebrated by North Perth Primary school and their yearly olive oil harvest event called Harvest 6006. Locals join school students in harvesting olives and turn them into olive oil for school fundraising.

Carr Street

Tucked away in the West Perth section of town are some of the sweetest cottage homes, with equally sweet front gardens. The Carr Street artwork is inspired by a front garden you’ll see as you walk towards Leederville. It is always bursting with a mix of cottage florals. Well loved by the owners and enjoyed by those passing by too. This garden has been a highlight of many morning walks.
