A little more about the collection
From the Bush is a series of original hand cut watercolour collages, celebrating twelve West Australian native plants. This series is inspired by Tahnee’s time in the south west at her family home near Bunbury and on her travels around Western Australia.
This series is the first in my collection and was an experimental experience with colours, textures, patterns and mark making to delicately portray the key characteristics of each species.
Hand painted, hand cut
All twelve artworks first began with watercolour painting various textures and patterns onto a mix of papers, each element is then cut, arranged and tweaked before being glued to an A3 piece of handmade paper. Each of the originals have been framed in natural wood and float mounted to accentuate the raw edge details in the handmade paper.
